Tic-Tac-Toe Darts

Nine squares on the board. Every dart that lands in an open square claims it; block your opponent and be first to three in a row. Or play Checkouts, where each square is a finish to take out.

How to Play

Tic-Tac-Toe Darts puts noughts and crosses on a chalkboard: nine squares, the bull in the middle and eight numbers drawn fresh every game. Throw at any open square and tap the square each dart lands in: every one you hit is yours, so a good visit can take two or three. Missed the squares? Tap Missed. First to three in a row, across, down or diagonally, wins. Set the claim rule to doubles or trebles only for a harder game.

In Checkouts, each square is a finish instead. Pick one, throw one visit, and if you check it out on a double the square is yours. The bull square needs the bullseye. Play solo against a scaling AI or pass the phone for a head-to-head with a friend.

Why It Helps Your Game

Because every square demands a different number, this trains accuracy across a genuine spread of the board rather than repeating one target, and the tactical layer: knowing when to block instead of chasing your own line: adds decision-making on top of the throwing itself. It's an easy, quick way to make single-number practice feel like a proper contest rather than a drill.
