The Local is a rival-based darts ladder set in a fictional pub, the Dog & Ferret. Five regulars stand between you and the landlady, Brenda: unbeaten on her own board since 1987: and you work your way up through them, match by match, trying to win their tankards off the hooks behind the bar. Every rival remembers you: past results, moods and commentary all persist between visits, so the regulars react differently depending on your history with them.
Because each rival has their own personality, difficulty and quirks rather than a single flat difficulty slider, The Local gives you a varied run of opponents to sharpen your match play against: some will punish a slow start, others will crack under early pressure.
